Data Engineer and Python Developer

CODE Staffing is currently accepting resumes for various data engineering positions, in particular using Python and the Flask and FastAPI frameworks. Junior and senior roles are available working on current and future development projects. We have multiple offerings for these positions and prefer full-time employment candidates in the Houston, TX area, but will consider remote as well.

Applicants may end up working on various projects over time, involving potentially different and evolving sets of technologies as needed for modern business applications and systems.

Position #1: Data Engineer and Development Lead

This candidate will have experience working on large scale projects as a lead (>3 years). In addition, they will have the following skills:

  • Hands-on coding and designing experience building solutions that focus on middle tier and backend (APIs, SQL)
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (designing service architecture), Jenkins and Github actions
  • Python experience focusing on FastAPI and Flask, dataclasses, numpy, pandas. End-to-end solution design using different technology stacks
  • SQL experience for performance tuning
  • Experience with cloud architectures (particularly Azure, GCP)
  • Oil and gas industry knowledge is a plus but not required

Position #2: Data Engineer and Senior Developer

This candidate will have strong development skills in the following:

  • Python fundamentals, REST protocol, Flask and FastAPI frameworks
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture, system design, SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Knowledge of CI/CD workflow (Github Actions, Jenkins)
  • Knowledge of Elastic and Observability stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, APM) preferred
  • Containerization architecture knowledge preferred (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Basic knowledge of cloud architecture (Azure, GCP preferred)
  • Oil and gas industry knowledge is a plus but not required
