Windows 8 Mobile Development with Azure Lab

As Microsoft developers, Windows Phone is a very attractive offering and simple to develop for. This 1-day bootcamp will teach developers how to use their existing knowledge to architect, design, and develop Windows 8 Mobile Applications with Azure. No prior mobile device development knowledge is required.

When:    November 6, 2013 (Wednesday), from 9AM - 5PM with a 1-hour lunch break. Free pizza and drinks will be provided.

Mobile devices are not just here to stay, but they are rapidly moving into scenarios previously dominated by PCs. No matter what system one is working on today, it is almost guaranteed that a mobile device aspect is required or will be required in the future. As Microsoft developers, Windows Phone is a very attractive offering and simple to develop for. This class will teach developers how to use their existing knowledge to architect, design, and develop Windows Phone applications. No prior mobile device development knowledge is required.

You’ll need a Windows Azure Subscription http://bit.ly/GetAzureToday. If you don’t have one, you can sign up for a 90 Day Trial. You will need to provide a credit card to sign up, but the Trial has a default spending cap of $0.00, so unless you remove the cap you will not be charged. You’ll use this subscription while working on the hands on labs.

You will also need to bring a laptop with:

  1. Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 (full version or Visual Studio Express 2012 for Web. But please note if you use Express Edition you will not be able to complete all the labs.)
  2. Install the Windows Azure Tools for Visual Studio
  3. Install the Windows Azure Training Kit
  4. Install the Windows 8 Mobile SDK http://bit.ly/StartWindows8Now
