PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A LAB STYLE EVENT. IT TAKES PLACE AT MICROSOFT LA OFFICES AND IS NOT AVAILABLE REMOTELY/ONLINE.

The day starts off with discussing common cloud development scenarios, including data, services and user interfaces that run in the cloud. Then in our hands-on lab we’ll build and deploy a cutting edge, end to end application with a DocumentDB (NoSQL) database, .NET Core REST services and a TypeScript / Angular 2 web application, all running, not on virtual machines, but on a true cloud platform. You can also develop and deploy the services for Docker if your machine supports it.



The prerequisites for this event are:

  1. You’ll need a Windows Azure Subscription. If you don’t have one, you can sign up for a 30 Day Trial. You will need to provide a credit card to sign up, but the Trial has a default spending cap, so unless you remove the cap you will not be charged. You’ll use this subscription while working on the hands on labs.

King Wilder, Senior Software Developer, CODE Consulting

King started programming in Classic ASP and Visual Basic in the late 1990’s and moved to VB.Net and then C# in 2005. Since then, he’s been building custom ASP.NET MVC applications for clients and himself. He’s integrated many third-party solutions into his applications such as Amazon Web Services, Windows Azure services, Vid.ly, Freshbooks, PayPal and more. King architects the entire application for his clients from the ground up and always follows conventions and standards to build highly scalable and clean code.



Charles Johnson, Solutions Engineerr, Alert Logic

Charles Johnson is a 19-year IT veteran wholly focused on ensuring organizations large and small are enabled to protect their data and infrastructure from malicious activity. Charles began his career in InfoSec securing communications for the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Joint Communications in the United States Navy. Prior to joining Alert Logic, Charles spent 4 years working as a consulting engineer and solutions architect helping organizations measure and address risk and operationalize investments in information systems security resources.
