New CODE Framework Release

CODE FRAMEWORK NOW SUPPORTS WPF AND MVVM/MVC

Houston, TX – November 14th, 2011… CODE Consulting, the Consulting arm of CODE Magazine, has published the newest version of the open-source CODE Framework. The update now supports Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and MVVM/MVC; tooling is also included in the update. The CODE Framework is now available for download on Codeplex at http://codeframework.codeplex.com.

The CODE Framework is a development framework from Markus Egger (17-time Microsoft MVP and RD) and CODE Magazine. It consists of various components and tools that help developers with common aspects of business application development, such as simplified SOA development with various clients, WPF development, data access, etc. The main focus of this framework is to enable productive, flexible, and highly maintainable business application development. The CODE Framework is the perfect way to architect business applications to be stable for future technologies (e.g. Windows 8)

Most of the CODE Framework originates in the much larger (and not free or open source) Milos Solution Platform product. This means that while the latest build is currently flagged as “beta”, it actually contains mostly very mature and time-tested code that has been migrated from the Milos product. The end product is still in the migration phase; new builds are expected with more components on an ongoing basis.

Documentation and articles will also be forthcoming over the next weeks and months and will be published in CODE Magazine in print and online. Features coming soon include tools and project/item templates which will make it much easier to use this framework.
